As a Media Lab Mentor at New England Public Media, Donyel has continued to learn Radio and Television journalism, including hosting, sound and video editing and production. She also assists with developing the daily schedule of activities and implementation for the Youth Media Producers who are learning multimedia skills for the first time. During each cohort, Donyel accompanies students in the field to gather sound and video for stories, works 1:1 and in small groups with students as they develop their stories, leads media-related activities and help students with project ideas and direction, while providing input on curriculum and facilitating discussions.
The Media Lab Internship at NEPM has been an excellent opportunity for Donyel to continue crafting the skills of video production, learned in her Media Lab course at Bay Path University, while continuing to learn new skills as she dives deeper into the world of Media in the present day.
Donyel will be within the Media Mentor Internship until June 2024.
